About the experience
About half an hour from Solar de Vilar Seco, in Cabanas de Viriato, the Aristides de Sousa Mendes Museum offers a visit of great historical and human depth. Housed in Casa do Passal, the consul's former family home, it preserves the memory of his Act of Conscience in Bordeaux, where he issued visas that allowed thousands to escape Nazi persecution.
A powerful cultural experience for guests drawn to heritage, European history, Jewish memory, human rights and reflection on moral courage and individual responsibility.
